Squid Game’s Jung Ho Yeon is Louis Vuitton’s New Maison Ambassador

Believe it or not, hit Netflix series “Squid Game” is Jung Ho Yeon’s first-ever acting role. Yes, that’s right. Ho Yeon, who played Kang Sa-byeok or player 67 in the popular show is actually a fashion model.
Born in 1994, the female star started her modelling career as early as 16 years old. Without an agent, Ho Yeon appeared in Seoul Fashion Week before landing a contract with Esteem Models.
Eventually, she was dubbed by Vogue as Korea’s Next Top Model after joining the program’s 4th season - albeit winning 2nd place. Following the show, Ho Yeon landed gigs for fashion magazines such as Vogue Girl Korea, Nylon Korea and Elle Wedding.

It was in 2016 that she made her international debut as a Louis Vuitton exclusive. At the same time, the model also walked for other high-end fashion brands like Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Tory Burch, Dolce & Gabanna, Chanel, Miu Miu, Burberry and more!

Aside from modelling, Ho Yeon also worked in commercials. She took part in advertisements for make-up brand Sephora’s “Let’s Beauty Together” campaign, Chanel, Gap and of course, Louis Vuitton.
A few days ago, it was announced that Ho Yeon will be Louis Vuitton’s newest global Maison Ambassador where she will officially model not only the brand’s bags but also its fashion, jewellery and watches.
According to the company’s artistic director Nicolas Ghesquirère, he immediately fell in love with the female model’s talent and personality. He also expressed his excitement with working on this new partnership with her.

Ho Yeon graced Louis Vuitton’s runway back in 2017 for their Spring-Summer collection. She then returned for other fashion shows and the pre-fall 2017 ready-to-wear campaign.

Ho Yeon signed with Saram Entertainment last year to begin her journey as an actress. She then made an acting debut in Squid Game, which was released this September.
The show became an instant success due to its interesting plot and twists. Apart from that, the emotions that the actors showed on screen captivated the hearts of viewers. This prompted a lot of fans to look up the casts and as a result, Ho Yeon grew a huge following on social media.
As of writing, she is now the most followed Korean actress on Instagram, with her account reaching over 19 million followers from 400,000 in just mere weeks.
