With work-from-home (WFH) being the norm in Singapore these days, we’re spending increasing amounts of time at home with nonstop Zoom meetings and emails!
Whether it’s for our lunch break, tea time snack or dinner, what’s better than delicious Korean food freshly cooked for pickup or delivery straight to our doorsteps? Read on to check out 7 of our top Korean food picks offering pickup or delivery under the new Covid-19 heightened measures!
1. Noodle Star K
Renowned for their delicious Naengmyeon (냉면), Noodle Star K specializes in traditional icy cold noodles that beats the Singaporean heat with every slurp. Our hearts were certainly set ablaze with passion when we heard that they are accepting takeaway and delivery orders during this period.
Two examples of their signature Naengmyeon (냉면) selection, include the Bibim Naengmyeon (S$13.80) and the Mul Naengmyeon (S$15.80), both highly delicious and memorable for us.
You may place your order by messaging them via their Facebook, or call 6224 6061.
2. Ajumma’s
Ajumma’s is one of our go to places for delicious yet affordable casual Korean dining in Singapore as they focus on delivering authentic Korean street cuisine at pocket-friendly prices.
Our favourites include offerings such as their Beef Bulgogi ($10.50), Army Base Stew ($14.90), Ginseng Chicken Stew ($19.90) as well as their not to be missed Kimchi Pork Belly Stew ($14.90). Truly 대박 (daebak)!
You can now order it conveniently at the comfort of your home here.
3. O.BBa Jjajang
A Korean restaurant that makes us drool even at the mere recollection for their delicious 짜장면 (Jjajangmyeon), and it is certainly nothing to wonder about as their restaurant was named after this remarkable Korean dish.
Their rendition is rather authentic – chewy noodles in perfect union with savoury dark sauce, caramelized onions, along with sprinkles of pork that brought out the overall flavours. You can now opt for takeaway or delivery orders via their Instagram or call 6221 9254.
4. SBCD Sundubu House
The 순두부 (Sundubu) which means ultra soft tofu, is an iconic Korean dish – and we find the 순두부찌개 (Sundubu-Jjigae, Soft Tofu Stew) from SBCD Sundubu House to be one of the closest to the ones that we loved from Korea.
Over here, they do not skive on the authenticity of their recipe, and alongside that philosophy, every block of soft and silken tofu is freshly made daily from special soybeans imported from Paju, South Korea.
Though travel to Korea might be difficult for most of us in Singapore presently, we can order takeaway or delivery directly from them here – which is pretty good as well for this work-from-home season.
5. Jinjja Chicken
JINJJA Chicken is a halal-certified trendy Korean chain that is inspired by South Koreaʼs rich food culture and its pali-pali (빨리빨리) culture of speed. They pride themselves for replicating not just Korean dishes in form but also the preparation methods.
JINJJA Chicken sources for ingredients and recipes from all over Korea and uses only 100% fresh chicken for their signature dishes such as their Korean Fried Chicken Wings. Now we can enjoy it freshly delivered islandwide with orders placed here or via their stores.
6. 8 Korean BBQ
A delicious Korean BBQ sounds like a great time, especially in the comfort of our homes! One of our favourites would be 8 Korean BBQ, well known for its signature 망가 리카 Magalica pork, that is highly tender, juicy and flavourful upon cooking.
Right now they have curated a special menu ready for K-Bbq lovers to order for takeaway – so that we too can recreate our happy moments right in the comfort of our home.
7. Anju
We are big fans of Korean cuisine with a modern spin, along with delicious drinks such as 막걸리 (Makgeolli) – and one of our recent favourites would be the newly opened Anju restaurant.
This restaurant, as its name suggests, is a Korean language wordplay to suggest that food is best eaten with alcohol, and they serve up beautifully plated modern Korean cuisine, along with their specially curated Korean alcoholic offerings such as their Champagne Makgeolli (S$75). This certainly goes well with their mains and we ended our dining experience here on a high note.
You may order your bottled happiness along with their delicious dishes here.
Working from home need not be a tasteless affair with all these tasty Korean takeaway and delivery options for us to consider – let us all stay home, stay safe & most importantly stay happy too! 화이팅!
