Make Snack Time More Exciting With These Unique-Flavoured Korean Products

Eating three meals in one day is essential for a healthy diet. But, having snacks from time to time also won’t hurt. Munching on your favourite instant meals while you’re watching your favourite show is the perfect combo – especially when it’s midnight.

Speaking of shows, we often see characters from K-dramas eat snacks like ramyeon paired with kimchi or drink yogurt-flavoured beverages while working or studying to boost their energy.

Spicy noodles, chocolate candies and fruit drinks are very common snacks in Korea. However, it’s not limited to that! There is actually a wide range of choices in the country, and here are some of the most unique flavoured snacks we found!

1. Samyang Rosé Buldak Tteokbokki

Tteokbokki is a famous Korean snack that is often sold on the streets. It is a rice cake stir-fried on a sauce, usually partnered with boiled egg and scallions. The common flavour of this dish is spicy – perfect for those cold nights, or jajang (black bean) – for those who can’t handle the heat.

But if you want to level up your tteokbokki experience, give this Rosé variant flavour a go. The sauce is a mixture of tomato and cream, which gives off a pink colour that resembles the flower.

It is the ultimate combination of spicy and creamy!

Avid fans of K-dramas are already familiar with choco pie as it made a lot of appearances on famous shows like Descendants of the Sun and Hospital Playlist. Lotte decided to give this choco snack a twist, by creating a “chaltteok” or rice cake flavoured version.

It is made of glutinous rice, which gives it a chewy texture. Meanwhile, the inside has a soft and sweet chocolate filling, for that sweet burst of taste once you bit into it.

The rice cake pie can be eaten as is, but you can also put it in the freezer and enjoy it cold.
