If you’re an avid fan of anything related to Korea, then you’re probably familiar with Dal.Komm coffee. It’s one of the most popular café in their country, known for it’s modern atmosphere and stylish interior.

 It’s success gave the company a chance to expand the business outside Seoul – and eventually, in other countries too! So, here are some interesting facts about this café that is stealing the hearts of Singaporean coffee-lovers!

It Arrived In Singapore In 2016

Dal.Komm coffee opened its first-ever store in Singapore back in December 2016. Their first ever branch was located at The Centrepoint, Orchard. Almost 5 years later, the café has now 3 more branches at Marina Square, Jewel Changi Airport and Funan Mall.

Dal.Komm’s Founding Company Is A Mobile Payment Provider

The café’s founding company is Danal, a leading mobile payment provider used across the United States, Europe and Asia. In 2012, they created Danal Entertainment, which aims to produce diverse music services and celebrity-related contents. A year later, they made an investment, which established Dal.Komm Co., Ltd.  

Their Logo Is Related To Music

Although their product is mostly coffee, the café’s logo is actually an illustration of music notes. It symbolises the combination of sounds within their stores as the music, machines and customers all come together.

It’s More Than Just Coffee

Dal.Komm has three kinds of Arabica coffee beans. They have K1 or “mild” for those who like their drinks sweet and smooth, K2 or “rich” for those who prefer a mixture of sweetness and creaminess, and K3 or “deep” for those who want that ~extra~ kick.

If you love watching Korean dramas, then this might not be a surprising fact for you. Dal.Komm café was featured in popular shows Descendants of the Sun and Goblin. The first scene is where Kang Mo-yeon (played by Song He-kyo) finds out Yoo Si-jin’s (played by Song Joong-ki) real job.

On the other hand, the second scene is The Grim Reaper (played by Lee Dong Wook) and Sunny (played by Yoo In-na) on their first date.

Dal.komm is a combination of two words. “Dal” came from it’s founding company Danal. “Komm” is a German word, which means, “come.” When you combine them, it creates the phrase “Come to Danal.”
