Have An Endless Viu-ing of Korean Shows This April
It’s only the fourth month of 2022, but we’ve already been blessed with a lot of great K-dramas, movies and variety shows. Of course, we want our readers’ watch lists to be up to date, so here are the latest programs you can enjoy this April!
Again My Life
Drama: This Viu original series is based on a webtoon of the same title, starring Lee Joon Gi as Kim He Woo, a high school student who is not academically smart. Because of hard work he was able to study in a university, pass the bar exam and eventually become a prosecutor.
When he investigates a politician’s corruption, unknown men kill him. However, the story does not end there as He Woo finds himself alive again.
Again My Life has three elements that are guaranteed to excite its viewers: the mystery of time travel, the thrill of solving crimes and the horror of murders.

From Now On, Showtime
Drama: Another Viu Original on the list is this romantic-comedy fantasy drama starring Park Hae Jin and Jin Ki Joo.
Hae Jin plays the character of Cha, a famous and talented magician who performs both live and on TV. He has the power to see and summon spirits, but he has chosen to keep this ability a secret.
Meanwhile Ki Joo plays Seul, a hot-tempered but enthusiastic investigator. Although she seems normal at first glance, she actually possesses supernatural powers just like Cha.
As they work together to solve cases around their town, the two of them will feel the emotions of hurt, loss and love.

Sh**ting Stars
Drama: It’s hard to be a celebrity because you need to take care of your reputation in order to become successful. What most people don’t know is what goes behind the scenes is actually harder because there is a team of PR, reporters and managers working hard to make things possible.
Oh Han Byeol (portrayed by Lee Sung Kyung) works as a PR team leader at a management company. Working at the same firm is Gong Tae Sung (portrayed by Kim Young Dae), a popular actor and top talent at the agency.
The public sees Tae Sung as a kind and polite man but Han Byeol knows his true personality. The two of them hate each other, but when they are forced to spend more time together, will they become enemies to lovers?

Queendom 2
Variety show: Queendom was well-received by fans when it aired for the first time so now it is back for another season with a stronger line up! In the program, K-Pop girl groups and a female soloist will compete to become the “queen”.
Through a series of challenges and performances, viewers will be able to see their idols showcase their amazing talents and skills.
Hosted by Girls Generation’s Taeyon, season 2 is graced by the appearances of Kep1er, Brave Girls, VIVIZ, Cosmic Girls (WJSN), LOONA and Sistar’s Hyorin.

My Boyfriend Is Better
Variety show: Trust is important in every relationship. But will you be willing to spend money in order to prove your loyalty to your partner?
In this survival program, a partners’ faith to each other will be tested when the girls bet on their boyfriend’s ability to sing. Five women ranging from different walks of life will compete using “couple money”.
The challenge will depend on their boyfriend’s talent in singing, with judges voting a contestant out in each stage. The catch? The girl can choose to bet on the rival.

My Lovely Angel
Movie: A man who lived as a loner his entire life, Jae Shik’s (portrayed by Jin Goo) destiny turns around when his colleague dies. This workmate of his has a daughter who cannot hear or see, so Jae Shik pretends to be her dad in an attempt to take away her money.
Since she has hearing and visual disabilities, he gets annoyed at first. But as he spends more time with her, Jae Shik slowly adjusts to how she communicates.
The story centres on how these two individuals will change each other’s lives as they try to converse in a non-conventional manner.

On The Line
Movie: This high-grossing action film starts Byun Yo Han as Seo Joon, a former detective who loses all of his assets because of a voice phishing. Determined to get his revenge, he tracks down the organisation behind the scam.
His investigation leads him to a call center in China where he meets Kwak Pro (portrayed by Kim Moo Yul), an architect who is behind the scheme.
On The Line premiered in Korea during the Chuseok Holiday of 2021. It ranked 4th among the Korean films released that year, earning over $11 million USD and 1.4 million admissions.
