K-Pop Christmas Songs For The Holiday Season

We will be celebrating Christmas in just a few days and to completely feel the spirit of holidays, we have compiled some of the most iconic Christmas K-Pop songs you can listen to.

So what are you waiting for? Get your playlists ready so we you can blast these tunes out!

Stray Kids – Christmas EveL

While Christmas songs are usually mellow or upbeat, Stray Kids put a twist on their track and decided to go with a hip-hop genre. It starts with the members rapping, so you’ll instantly feel pumped up as soon as you play the song!

When you get to the chorus, you’ll be greeted by Felix’s deep voice singing “jingle all the way” – giving off that very unique take on the popular Christmas line.

The music video is just as interesting too, with the boys acting as Santa’s “replacement” trying to deliver the gifts on time. I mean, who wouldn’t want to receive presents from Stray Kids right?

GOT7 – Confession Song

It’s been a while since GOT7 has released a song together because the members are all busy with their solo activities. So if you’re like me who misses hearing their voices especially during this holiday season, let’s listen to this song to fill that void in our ahgase heart.

Many people say that Christmas is the time for love, and the boys perfectly represented that with this track. As the title implies, it’s a song that talks about the difficulties of confessing to someone, so they just sing it instead!

The video is so cute too because the members themselves went to a school to help some students profess their feelings to their crushes~

BOM & HI – All I Want For Christmas Is You

Although these two talented girls are not under YG Entertainment anymore, their powerful vocals remain unforgettable within the company.  Despite Bom being a member of 2NE1 and Lee Hi being a solo artist at the time of the release, it did not stop them to work on a collaboration.

The two singers made a cover of the famous Christmas Song “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. Bom and Lee Hi’s version is quite different from the original one as their rendition is more calm and mellow.

It’s something you can listen to when it’s already nighttime and just want to enjoy a relaxing evening.

BTOB – The Winter’s Tale

When I first heard this song, I felt like it would be a good K-drama OST because I could imagine it playing in the background as the main character is going through a climatic scene.

And I was somehow correct, because the video of the song actually shows a woman who’s reminiscing her past about a former lover. The lyrics, however is in the man’s perspective, talking about how the girl left him for another guy.

Even though the meaning of the track is quite heart breaking, the beat is surprisingly cheerful and complimented by the members’ rap lines – an ideal pick me up song if you’re going through a rough time this Christmas month.

Ailee – My Grown Up Christmas List

This song from Ailee is just not an ordinary Christmas track as it is actually part of the dedication album for the legendary producer David Foster. He has worked for iconic singers such as Michael Jackson, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston, making this song really special.

Ailee really did a good job on it too because it is very meaningful and conveys a good message. As kids, we’d always wish for toys and other material things for Christmas.

But as we grow older and become more mature, our priorities become different and we start wishing for non-tangible gifts. For instance, the song talks about healing for all broken hearts, endless love and a friend for anyone who needs it.

Girls’ Generation TTS – Dear Santa

Back in 2012, Girls Generation formed a sub-unit “TTS” including members Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun. They released several songs including this Christmas track “Dear Santa” which remains to be one of my on-repeats during December.

The first few seconds of the song will make you think that it’s going to be sad tune, but it actually has a merry rhythm that fits the girls’ honey like voices.

If you’re feeling a bit overwhelmed with all those last minute Christmas shopping and decorating, just play this song and dance the stress away~

Roy Kim – It’s Christmas Day

Christmas is really the season of romance so it’s not uncommon for songs released during this period to talk about love. Another track that will encourage you to confess your feelings is this ballad song for Roy Kim.

Admitting your love to someone is not an easy feat because there is always a fear of rejection. Some would prefer to just keep it to themselves because they are afraid of their feelings not being reciprocated while some, are just looking for the right moment.

And if you’re part of the latter crowd, take Roy Kim’s advice and say the words you want to simply because it’s Christmas day.

Counting down the days to Christmas can make you feel impatient, but it is more bearable when accompanied with good music. ;)
