Get To Know The Kakao Friends!

KakaoTalk is a mobile messaging app launched by the Kakao Corporation in March 18, 2010. Although widely used in South Korea, KakaoTalk is also popular in other Asian countries and is available in 15 languages.
As of 2020, data showed that at least 87% of Korea’s population were recorded to be actively using the app every month. And on average, an estimate of 11 billion messages is sent per day!
Aside from its convenient social network features like group chat and the easy sharing of photos and videos, the fact that they have cute emoticons and stickers has attracted users too!
They even have their own official characters called the KakaoFriends that the company released in 2012. Are you ready to meet them?
1. Ryan

Ryan is the most famous among all the KakaoFriends. Although he resembles a bear, he is actually a male lion without a mane! Because he is the king of the jungle and his expressions are always serious, some think he is scary. But don’t be fooled! Ryan is actually very sensitive.
2. Apeach

As the name implies, Apeach is a peach that escaped from its tree because of a condition that was caused by gene mutation. It is neither a he nor she, but a part of its charm is the sexy back and slightly aggressive plus hot-tempered personality.
3. Muzi & Con

These two are our first duo in the KakaoFriends group. Despite the yellow creature’s long white ears, Muzi is actually a pickled radish that is only wearing a costume. The reason? It gets very embarrassed without it.
Meanwhile, Con is a scientist who created Muzi. It is deemed to be very mysterious, because it is always seen with only one side of its face. Now that Con has successfully raised a radish, it plans to take care of a peach next. Watch out Apeach!
4. Frodo & Neo

Frodo and Neo prove that opposites do attract because this two are a cat and dog that are in a relationship! They are the official #RelationshipGoals couple of KakaoFriends who are madly in love with each other.
Frodo is a rich mixed-breed dog from the city. On the other hand, Neo is a narcissistic cat that loves to shop and may or may not be confident due to her bob “wig” hairstyle~
6. Tube

A distant relative of ugly duckling, Tube is a timid and sensitive duck. However, when he gets scared, he will turn into a crazy duck and change to colour green. He also has a secret. Tube has a very small feet but he wears large flippers to hide it ;)
7. Jay-G

The last character from KakaoFriends is Jay-G, a big fan of rapper Jay-Z and is living the double life. In the mornings, he is a secret agent. But, when it’s night-time he transforms into a groovy pop star jamming to hip hop music!
Jay-G’s dapper appearance makes him look very responsible. In reality, he can be a bit clumsy.
