From Reel To Real, Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin Are Officially Engaged!
Valentine’s Day this year just got better for fans of Netflix’s hit drama “Crash Landing On You” after its main casts Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin announced their engagement on Instagram.
The show became one of the most watched series on Korean television and streaming platforms like Netflix and Viu in 2019.
It follows the story of Se-ri, a fashion enthusiast heiress who will cross path with Jeong Hyeok, a military officer from North Korea. Due to a paragliding incident, the two cross paths at the Demilitarized Zone, and eventually develop feelings for one another.
This year however, their characters are not the only ones who will get their happy ending. The couple announced the good news to their fans last February 10th on social media.
Ye Jin rose to popularity after her role in the romance dramas “The Classic” and “Summer Scent” in 2003. It was then followed by other successful shows, earning her the title “Nation’s First Love”.
In 2016, she started getting global recognition thanks to her performance in a political thriller film “The Truth Beneath.” Ye Jin bagged the “Best Actress” award at the 25th Buil Film Awards and 17th Busan Film Critics Awards.
On the other hand, Hyun Bin gained fame when he starred in the romantic comedy series “My Name is Kim Sam Soon.” After the wide recognition of the show, he landed more leading roles including in “Secret Garden” and “Memories of Alhambra”.
Despite being one of the highest paid actors in South Korea, the actor was awarded by the Financial Services Committee for saving 35 billion won within 17 years.
He also gives back to the community and even donated 200 million won to a non-profit organization to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
On her official Instagram account, the actress posted a picture of a mini white dress.
In her caption, Ye Jin talked about having a person she wants to spend the rest of her life with. She also shares about how Hyun Bin makes her feel warm and protected, before asking fans to help them celebrate their future.
Of course, the actress did not forget to thank her supporters for their unconditional love and well wishes for their relationship.
Meanwhile, Hyun Bin used his label VAST Entertainment’s account to share the engagement.
The post includes a photo of the couple holding hands as he told fans that he is making the “most important decision” of his life. He said that he promised Ye Jin, the woman who always makes him laugh, that they will always walk together in the days that will come by.
Ye Jin and Hyun Bin’s relationship were only revealed to the public last year. However, reports say that the couple were already dating as early as March 2020, after Crash Landing On You ended.
According to their agencies, their wedding will take place somewhere in Seoul this coming March.
Because of the pandemic, the ceremony will only be exclusive to the couple’s parents as well as their close friends.
