Korean Celebrity Couples That Are Relationship Goals

Celebrities who date each other is not really a big thing in the West. However, it can be a bit different in South Korea. The country tends to be more conservative, so whenever personalities get involve in dating issues, you can expect a huge reaction (both positive and negative) from netizens.

But this doesn’t mean that Korean celebrities rarely reveal whom they’re romantically involved with. As a matter of fact, here are 7 couples that will make you swoon!

Hyuna and DAWN

Idols usually have a “dating ban” on the first few years of their career, which basically means they are not allowed to be in a relationship – probably so they can focus on building up their image as a K-Pop group member.

While Hyuna is already an established idol, DAWN on the other hand was a part of the 2-year-old boy group PENTAGON at the time that their relationship was revealed.

This resulted to CUBE Entertainment terminating both Hyuna and DAWN’s contracts.

Despite what happened, the couple proved that their love is stronger than ever. The two of them are now signed under P-Nation owned by PSY, and even released a song together last year!

Hyuna and DAWN’s love story is really the definition of against all odds, and many enjoy seeing their cheesy couple pictures on their Instagram accounts~

You can watch how their love story started below:

Netflix’s Korean dating show “Single’s Inferno” has been trending for the past few weeks, and viewers have continued to follow the casts’ lives even after the series ended.

One of the popular pairings on the show is Song Jia and Kim Hyun Joong because of their K-drama like interactions all throughout the program. While Jia showed interest in other guys, Hyunjoong only pursued her, prompting fans to root for him.

Fortunately, it all worked out in the end and Jia choose Hyunjoong! And now that the show is over, one question comes to mind: Are they still together?

Although there is no “solid” proof that the couple continued dating, Hyunjoong recently posted a puppy on his Instagram story – Jia’s nickname for him on the show. Viewers believe that this is an indication that their relationship carried on.

Taeyang and Min Hyo Rin

BIGBANG’s Taeyang first met Min Hyo Rin at the music video set of his song “1AM” back in 2014. After a year, they confirmed their relationship. In an interview, Hyorin even revealed her reaction when their dating photos were leaked.

Then in 2018, the couple finally got married, earning well wishes from fans and their celebrity friends.

Taeyang and Hyo Rin are pretty private with their lives, as you won’t really find photos of them together in their social media accounts. But, they recently shared good news with everyone – the birth of their first child.

Congratulations to the new parents!

Sometimes, co-actors end up dating each other after filming a drama or movie. But can you believe that these two stars never starred in the same show, but somehow became a couple?

Woo Bin and Min Ah were brand ambassadors for Giordano, and a simple photo shoot in 2015 is how the two of them ended up being close. Because of their obvious chemistry, they eventually shot a commercial for the brand:

These two are also the living statement of the saying “for better or for worse” after Woo Bin was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017. Min Ah was seen accompanying him at the hospital multiple times.

Up until now, their relationship is going strong and many are anticipating if they are going to get married soon.

Every January 1st, Korean news outlet Dispatch reveals a new celebrity couple and for 2022, it’s T-Ara’s Hyomin and soccer player Hwang Ui Jo!

According to reports, they met each other through an acquaintance and started dating November last year. They are however, in a long-distance relationship since the athlete is based in France.

Yet, being in two different countries does not stop them from bonding. In December, Hyomin travelled to Switzerland to spend time with Ui Jo, since the French soccer league is in a winter break.

Hyeri and Ryu Jun Yeol

If you’re one of those people who get second-lead syndrome whenever they watch K-dramas, then you’re probably frustrated that their characters did not end up together in Reply 1998.

But even though they didn’t have a happy ending in the show, their romance went from “reel to real” as they started dating in 2017!

Since then, Jun Yeol and Hyeri have constantly mentioned each other on interviews. They also constantly go on dates despite their busy schedules – as seen on their Instagram photos taken at same locations.

Beenzino and Stefanie Michova

Although these two are not a 100% Korean couple since Stefanie is German, their relationship garnered traction from the locals due to their different nationalities.

First revealed as a couple in 2015, they only started being public about their dating life a year later. Beenzino stated that letting everyone know about their relationship made it easier for them to go on dates.

The couple also likes spending their time together at home, which Beenzino shared to his fans in one of his vlogs:

The rapper actually grew up in New Zealand, which explains why he can speak in English and can communicate with Stefanie. The model on the other hand, revealed that she’s also studying Korean so she can talk to Beenzino’s family better.

In 2021, Beenzino proposed to Stefanie after 6 years of dating.

Here’s to wishing all these couples a long, happy and loving relationship!
