Must Watch K-Programs This November

It seems like only yesterday when we’ve recommended you a list of thriller shows you can watch for October. Now, we are back again to share yet another collection of Korean programs we know you’d enjoy this November.

Now, We Are Breaking Up

Drama: It’s been a while since fans last saw Song He-Kyo on screen, as her last drama project was back in 2019. Now, we’ll get to see her play the role of Ha Young-eun, a cold-hearted realist who works for a fashion company.

Her partner is Yoon Jae-kook (portrayed by Jang Ki-Yong), a man who has it all: looks, money and brains. He is also a part of the fashion world, working as a freelance photographer.

This VIU original will tackle love and break-ups, and how two opposite individuals will change each other’s view in life.

The Outlaws

Movie: The Outlaws is an action film released in 2017. Based on a true story, it stars Ma Dong-seok, one of South Korea’s most successful actor and Yoon Kye-Sang who is also known for being a former member of the group g.o.d.

The plot is inspired by the 2004 “Hueksapa Incident”, a turf war between two gangs. Ma-Dong-seok who plays the role of police officer Seok-do, will try to keep peace between the rival crews.

Meanwhile, the antagonist of the film is Jang Chen (portrayed by Yoon Kye-sang), who is a notorious crime lord from China.

During it’s launch, The Outlaws grossed more than 6 million admissions, making it the 3rd highest grossing domestic film in Korea that year.

One Ordinary Day

Drama: Based on the award-winning British television series “Criminal Justice”, this drama is set to air this November. It stars Kim Soo-Hyun who will play the role of Hyun-soo, a college student who is accused of murder.

He will be helped by Seung-won (played by Shin Joong-Han), a not-so-good lawyer who will teach him how to battle South Korea’s cruel criminal justice system.

Other characters that are involved in the story are Kang Da-kyung (played by Moon Ye-Won), a journalist who will cover the murder case, Ahn Tae-hee (played by Kim Shin-Rok) who is a prosecutor and Seo Seo-jin (played by Lee Seoul), a lawyer from a well-known firm.

I Don’t Fire Myself

Movie: Working for a new job isn’t easy, but it’s better than being unemployed. This is what Jung Eun (played by Yoo Da-In), the main character of the film, is going through.

Having worked for the same company for the past 7 years, she suddenly gets assigned to work for a sub-contractor firm for 1 year. Jung Eun reluctantly accepts the new job.

The film tackles one’s difficulty in adjusting to a new environment, and how it can lead you to meeting new people who can help you along the way.

Secret Royal Inspector & Joy

Drama: 2PM’s Ok Taecyon embarks in a new role for this period drama set in the Joseon Dynasty. This romantic-comedy drama is about Ra Yi Eon (played by Taecyon), who wants to live a simple life by running a humble dumpling restaurant.

However, fate has different plans for him as he suddenly becomes an undercover official who is tasked to inspect corruption in local provinces. He then meets Jo Yi (played by Kim He-Yoon), a young woman who will be his partner in solving cases.

Seondal: The Man Who Sells River

Movie: Another period piece on our list is the Seondal: The Man Who Sells River. It is a comedy movie based on an ancient novel starring Kim Seondal (played by Yoon Seung-Ho), a genius swindler who uses his good looks to trickpeople.

He works with Bo Won (played by Ko Chang-seok), Buddhist Yoon (played by Ra Mi-Ran) and Gyeon (played by Kim Min-Seok).

The main story will revolve about the team’s plan to deceive a powerful man named Sung Dae-Ryeon and steal tobacco, a prized and valuable product.

Melancholia

Drama: After the hit drama Sky Castle which centers around Korea’s education system, this is another show that tackles the same theme.

The main casts are Lim Soo-jung who plays the role of Yoon-Soo, a professor who teaches mathematics at a private school and Seung Yoo, a quiet student who likes taking photos.

Melancholia will bravely talk about the scandals and corruption that occurs in private schools located in Gangnam.
